Directory Submission
Directories are abundance. They come in the thousands and they have one for everyone’s business. Directories are good for ranking and good for relevant content linking back to your site. Some Directories charge money making it easy to get into and some do not and make it extremely hard to get into. They go from a onetime fee of $5.00 to 1,000 a year. In most cases the “higher” the traffic the “higher” the fee. Some do go off of the amount of customers they have. There is thousands and rest assured they all have a different way of making money.
Kortia does Directory submissions to free directories for free. It will be up to the customer if they would like to pay for some directories. We do recommend Yahoo! Directory. A Directory is a great source of back links and will help your popularity. Higher popularity will also help your PR ranking with Google.
Many people claim PR ranking is not important. We disagree with this theory. If Google did not care what your pr ranking was why would they give every site on the web a pr ranking?? A PR rank does not always mean you will out rank other people with a lower pr, it simple tells Google if you are popular or not. We believe PR rank is based off of relevant back links, how many add you to their favorites, how much traffic you get and where it comes from, how long people stay on your site, how old your site is and how much relevant information it has in regards to you title tags. There is some that say if you get 10 pr5 sites linking to you, you will be a pr4. We have not seen any evidence that confirms this. We have noticed that Google updates the PR rank on the Google web browser once a Quarter. And we can tell you just a pr 2 is a lot of work!
