Key Word Analysis
Key word analysis is critical. You cannot stress those words enough. A prime example is a website that is marketed with incorrect keywords.
Example: You decide you want to do a website based on Garage cars ... “hot rods” with big motors and loud exhaust. First thing you think is, well people are probably looking for information on “hot rods” so I will use that as my main keyword.
Guess what? With just about 3000 people a month looking for hot rods you would be cutting yourself short for not making you main keyword “street Rods”, after all it gets 18,000 searches a month. Now you tie in that keyword with the next highest ranking keywords and you already have a site that is capable of getting 100,000 hits a month to one page! That is a lot of traffic!
Fact: some keywords get more traffic than others. We had a potential client that sold Dhea Creams. Fact: No one was searching for such a cream. They do not know it exist. Could we get them to the top? Yes indeed we did however not much business comes from it as no one is even looking for it. At that point you have to start looking for things affiliated with Dhea creams...
A prime example of just that is a company called Ezy Lift. They have one of the weirdest lifts I have ever seen. It can easily fall into many categories, but does not have one. Being new to the market we analyzed the site and discovered that people of course did not look for Ezy Lifts, they looked for “lift gates” or liftgate/lift gate.
We then realized that in order to get this in front of an audience that has never seen this lift we would need to do local marketing as well as broad marketing. Our target Keyword was liftgate. To this day www.123lift.com gets 10,000 unique hits a month and has nearly 300 keywords at the top of all 3 major search engines. That is more than any of its major competitors and the site is only 1 year old. That is why your keywords are so important.
