Social Media
Social Media is any means of using public websites or Media to promote or get exposure to your business or service.
Things are changing fast and you can rest assured change is certain and Social media is among the top. After so many companies are beating themselves up with Google competition one thing matters most “Conversions” and if you are not getting traffic, you are not getting conversions. I feel this is why Google had such a drop in PPC pay (per click) advertisers, if your ROI (return on investment) is not happening and you are sitting in the number one spot then what is the point?
What is the point of having a beautiful website if no one sees it? But what about when it is in the number one spot and no one buys it? This means you might as well not be seen. It is like trying to get your first credit card. No credit, no card, but how do you get credit with no card? You start small and social media is a perfect path to start getting your site sent out to the world to see.
Ok so being number one will get your name out and when it comes down to it we have noticed one thing and the one thing that matters most- numbers. Being a SEO professional you seem to be a kid in a candy store and this leads you to building site after site. When it comes down to reality, it really is a numbers game.
Every site we do, not matter the look or feel, the sales can certainly go off of a percentage of unique hits. This all will make a difference of curse to supply and demand as well of a few other factors. The one thing we always noticed is the sales contributes to the traffic. Double the traffic and you will double the sales.
As the herd runs it is certainly shifting gears and any SEO pro knows conversions are what it is all about. You can certainly make them higher but the bottom line is driving the absolute most traffic you can to your site. I do not mean just go out and purchase some instant traffic that can hurt you more than help.
I also do not mean go out and market broad keywords either. Marketing truck accessories is also too broad if you are selling one particular part like truck brakes or truck lifts.
You need to use broad words that are maybe more of a synonym or in the same family. For example if you are selling a wrinkle cream, instead of marketing beauty supplies, market with comparison of your wrinkle cream vs. botox or market as a botox alternative on twitter, MySpace, blogs, Facebook and any means of social media you can find.
Use social media to work wonders. People on twitter look for people alike, you know the saying “birds of a feather will flock together” cannot be any more true than what it is. Do not be afraid to write about your competition! Draw interest with catchy headlines and never douse your competition with hate.
